The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers (BCTGM) International Union is a modern union with old-fashioned values. We are dedicated to giving workers in our industries a voice and a vote in their workplace. We believe that all workers should be treated with Dignity, Justice and Respect on the job.

BCTGM exemplifies outstanding community service and dedication from food drives to disaster relief, BCTGM members have always been involved in aiding those within their communities. BCTGM locals throughout the U.S. and Canada have an impressive record in gathering union volunteers for activities that improve their communities and enhance the lives of those who are less fortunate.

As you know, on May 13, the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury jointly published regulations on the Affordable Care Act's provision requiring group health plans that provide dependent coverage for children to continue to make such coverage available for an adult child until the child turns 26 years of age.* And, in late April, the Treasury Department released guidance on the tax-code provision in the law that allows a group health plan to provide health coverage on a tax-free basis to any child of the plan participant through the end of the calendar year in which the child turns 26.

A new issue of our e-publication Health Care Reform Insights, which discusses the age-26 mandate in light of the recent regulations that clarify coverage for children, is now available online on the following page of the Segal Web site: http://www.segalco.com/ publications/HCRI/june2010DepCov.pdf
